4–20mA / 0–10V Scaling Tool

Convert both ways between analog signals and engineering values, or map 4–20mA directly to 0–10V.

Quick start

Choose Convert from and Convert to, enter the input value, and define engineering endpoints when needed. Select Calculate. Swap direction uses the converted result as the new input.

Method & assumptions

y = y₀ + (x − x₀) × (y₁ − y₀) / (x₁ − x₀)

Choose a fixed analog range or enter the engineering endpoints and units on each side. Swap direction uses the unrounded converted result as the new input. Descending engineering ranges are supported; equal endpoints are rejected.

Worked example

12mA on a 4–20mA input is 50% of span: 50°C for 0–100°C, or 5V for 0–10V. Reverse the mapping: 5V gives 12mA.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter a reverse-acting range?

Yes. For example, 4–20mA can map to 100–0%. Each pair of endpoints must be different.
